Richard Schultz designed the collection in 1966 at the request of Florence Knoll, who wanted well-designed outdoor furnishings that would withstand the corrosive salt air at her home in Florida. Through the years, the 1966 Collection has earned a special place in the world of outdoor furniture. After being discontinued in 1988, the 1966 Collection was reissued and produced by the designer and is still produced exactly as it should be in terms of material and form. Exceptional durability is always emphasized with Richard Schultz. They have re-engineered the line to incorporate the best in modern materials, including Teflon and stainless steel.
